In a surprise drop this month, favoured Sydney selector and crate-digger Marco Vella, a.k.a Body Corp, returns with a digital-only EP comprising three long-form drone pieces, harking back to his much-loved Music for Stargazing mix for Sydney’s Ear to Ear in 2021.

These three ambient works were composed by Vella, in his words, “sitting in complete darkness, where the only lights were the blinking of synths and flickering of effects pedals in my studio.”

The composition of these tracks was something like a meditation or healing process for Vella, after years of ongoing uncertainty due to the pandemic and radical changes in his personal life.

Says Vella - “It all came out naturally, and was a really calm and fluid experience. When I was having trouble sleeping for a period of time, I would put these tracks on and they would really help me to relax.”

The tracks were initially intended more for personal use, as an act of self-care, but one day, when the story behind the tracks surfaced in a conversation with Joe Alexander (Bedroom Suck Records), the idea to share these pieces to the benefit of others was born.

Finally, the release's striking artwork is taken from a photograph by amateur photographer Dave Eckbald, who reached out to Vella after listening to the Music for Stargazing mix. Eckbald sent Vella some of his work in astrophotography, and the result is This Time, We Have - a small gift to listeners around the world seeking recovery and relaxation.
